You are welcome to yorupedia, this is a newly developed website with emphasis on Yoruba. The website is an outcome of several years of research on the people, language, culture and the history of Yoruba. Unlike other websites, it is an encyclopedia, or rather, a-one-stop-site, which provides all-inclusive information on several aspects of the Yoruba.
More important, it is a multi-audience website for: students of language, members of academia, cultural anthropologists, historians, musicologists, linguists, and even young ones who have passion for the language. The site is designed to enhance every visitor’s knowledge/understanding; more so, to make us show appreciation for the language in its entirety, as a channel of communication, and vehicle for cultural transmission and preservation.
Being a new site, we welcome your comments, and suggestions, because it will help us making the site a better reference point.
